Awareness creates change

Awareness creates change.

By Coach Stephanie Carrodegua

Rule #1: Be Honest With Yourself

Change often begins long before the first workout, the new meal plan, or the decision to build a healthier routine.

It begins with honesty.

Not the harsh, critical kind of honesty that says, “I should be doing better.” The useful kind—the willingness to look at your life as it actually is and ask yourself:

What’s working for me right now? What isn’t? And what am I ready to do differently?

That sounds simple, but it can be one of the hardest parts of creating meaningful change.

You Can’t Change What You Won’t Acknowledge

It’s easy to focus on what we intend to do.

“I eat pretty healthy.”

“I’m going to start working out again.”

“I just don’t have enough time.”

“I’ll get back on track when things calm down.”

But our intentions and our daily behaviors aren’t always telling the same story.

Maybe you genuinely want more energy, but you’re consistently sleeping five hours a night. Maybe getting stronger matters to you, but exercise keeps getting pushed to the bottom of the list. Maybe you say you don’t have time to take care of yourself, but an honest look at your week reveals places where your time could be used differently.

That doesn’t make you lazy or unsuccessful.

It gives you information.

And information is powerful because once you can see a pattern clearly, you can begin deciding whether you want to keep it.
